Welcome to AskMeTax. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the AskMeTax website and service located at askmetax.ai (the “Service”), operated by Global Ledger Solutions (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Nature of the Service

AskMeTax provides AI-powered tax information and general tax advisory responses based on published tax laws and regulations. The information provided is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute professional tax advice, legal advice, or a client–adviser relationship. You should consult a qualified tax professional for advice specific to your situation. We are not liable for any decisions made based on information provided by the Service.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
• By using the Service, you represent that you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.

3. Account Registration

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You agree to notify us immediately at bd@gls-tax.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• You may not share your account or allow others to use your subscription quota.

4. Free Tier and Subscriptions

• New users receive 5 complimentary questions at no charge.
• To continue beyond the free tier, a paid subscription is required:
  • Monthly Plan: $100 / month — up to 100 questions per monthly billing period.
  • Annual Plan: $1000 / year — up to 100 questions per month.
• Unused questions within a monthly quota period do not roll over to the next period.
• We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with reasonable notice to existing subscribers.

5. Payments

• All payments are processed securely via PayHere (payhere.lk).
• By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) until you cancel.
• All prices are quoted in USD. Your bank or card issuer may apply currency conversion fees; we are not responsible for such fees.
• We do not store your full card details. Payment data is handled in accordance with PayHere’s security standards.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation and refund terms are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, free-tier restrictions, or subscription quotas through automated means, multiple accounts, or any other method.
• Submit questions designed to extract confidential, proprietary, or unpublished tax rulings for commercial redistribution.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise attempt to extract the underlying AI model or data corpus.
• Introduce malware, perform denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise attempt to disrupt the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without refund.

8. Intellectual Property

• All content, branding, software, and materials on the Service are the property of Global Ledger Solutions or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
• You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on the Service without our prior written consent.
• Questions you submit remain yours; by submitting them you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use them to improve the Service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Global Ledger Solutions, its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you by posting the revised Terms on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
